Search housing yourself

Amber is an independent student housing website you can browse for free. Use it alongside your university’s accommodation office — we link to it plainly and receive nothing when you use it.

Before booking

  • Confirm rent, deposit, bills, contract length and cancellation terms in writing.
  • Request written confirmation of step-free access, room layout, bathroom access and any sensory or support needs.
  • Check the property and provider independently before sending money.
  • Ask what happens if your visa is delayed, and whether the contract can be cancelled.

ALVC does not receive commission from housing providers and does not verify room listings, prices, availability or accessibility. Check each property and provider independently before you commit.
